With a reduced diameter of ¼", it will minimize the compartmentalization zone (dead wood area) affected by tap holes. The diameter and depth of the tap hole have a direct influence on how large this area becomes. If sustainability of your bush is a priority, ¼" spouts drastically reduce the compartmentalization effect.

Designed specifically for maple tapping, H2O tapping bits feature an optimized cutting profile that ensures fast, smooth chip evacuation for a clean, consistent tap hole. They allow for precise and uniform tapping, promoting a tight, leak-free spout installation.

Laser-engraved depth marks make it easy to visually control drilling depth and help maintain the recommended tapping depths of 1 1/2" to 2", depending on tree diameter.
